This charming small fishing village marks the entrance to Herault when arriving from the sea. You will pass by fishing boats, the Fish Market, and a famous shipyard! Then you will continue into the heart of the picturesque city of Agde and discover its cathedral and buildings made of volcanic stone. And why not a little swim in front of the beaches of Grau d’Agde or Rochelongue before returning to Cap?

Sete and the Thau Lagoon

Sete, the canals and the Thau Lagoon

🦪 The Thau lagoon is a brackish water lake separated from the Gulf of Lion by a sandbar connecting the Agde volcano and the hill of Sete (Mont Saint-Clair). So, with a boat license, starting from Cap d’Agde for 3 hours (morning) or up to 8 hours (full day), explore the Sete canals before passing by the fishing ports of Marseillan ville or Mèze in the heart of the Thau lagoon. You can also plan a stop to taste oysters or mussels with a local producer, for example in Bouzigues. Discovering the Sete canals by boat with a license can be done in half a day. Visiting the Thau lagoon should be planned as a full-day trip.

🌋 A boat ride with an approximate duration of 2 to 3 hours, with or without a licence. Discover the magnificent scenery offered by the Agde coastline from the sea. Leaving the harbour, you will pass a small beach before reaching the Anse de la Grande Conque, which you can recognize by the Rocher des Deux Frères marking the entrance to this cove. You will then come across a combination of small cliffs and stretches of black-sand beaches characteristic of the Cap d’Agde. The richness of the seabed may tempt you to take a swim in this particularly volcanic and typical setting of our city of Agde!

Do you need a boating license for all destinations?

No. Some destinations such as the Port of Cap d'Agde and its basins, or the coves of the rugged coastline, are reachable without a license, by electric boat. Others, such as Sete and the Thau Lagoon, require a coastal boating license. Each destination on our page specifies whether it can be accessed with or without a license.

How many people can board for a tow buoy, water skiing, or wakeboarding?

This depends on the boat and the equipment you choose. Contact our team by stating the number of participants and their level: we will guide you toward the most suitable option.

Can you combine a boat ride and a towed activity on the same day?

Yes, it’s also a very popular option! A cruise to the Grau d’Agde or the rugged coastline in the morning, followed by a towable buoy session or water skiing in the afternoon. Talk to our team to arrange your day.

Is there a minimum age for a towable buoy, water skiing, or wakeboarding?

The towable buoy is available for children as soon as they can swim and hold the handles on their own. Water skiing and wakeboarding require more strength and balance: our instructors will assess with you whether the activity is suitable for each child’s age and level.

Is the equipment (life jackets, wetsuits) provided?

Life jackets are provided systematically for all activities. Specific suits and equipment (wakeboard board, skis) are available for an additional rental fee, to be booked when you make your request.
